In Ealing, there are a number of various groups , workshops and activities available for parents and carers who would like some support with parenting or who simply want to learn new skills to help build positive family relationships.

Ealing Parenting Service

The Ealing Parenting Service run and organise numerous programmes throughout the year, free of charge for parents and carers living in Ealing. The programmes provide the opportunity for parents and carers to share their experiences , learn from each other, and find out about strategies to build healthy and positive family relationships.

Family Links

Provides parents/carers with positive practical and fun ways of guiding children so they can manage their feelings and behaviour. Parents/carers can attend the generic programme or targeted programme such as the Neurodevelopmental Needs, Islamic Values or Additional Needs.

Webster Stratton Incredible Years® ASD, ADHD,ODD and Challenging Behaviour

Aims to help parents build positive relationships with their children, whilst at the same time teaching strategies to manage any unacceptable behaviour.

Webster Stratton Incredible Years® Autism Spectrum and Language Delays

Offered to parents of children who have social and communication needs/ diagnosed with Autism and/or Autism delay, The programme's objectives are to promote children's emotional regulation, social competence, language skills, school readiness and relationships with others.

Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities

A course welcoming all parents who would like to work on their parenting skills and build positive relationships with their children. A targeted course is also accessible for parents/carers of children with ASD, ADHD or conduct disorders.

Less Shouting More Co-operation

Run by Family Lives, 'Less shouting more cooperation' is offered to parents/carers who  would like to develop tools to challenge children's behaviour effectively and to negotiate and hold boundaries.

Family Ties

Sometimes, children may be unintentionally caught up in conflicts between their parents, especially when these extend over a long period of time.The Family Ties multi-family group is for families who would like to reduce the impact of disputes on children.

Freedom Programme

The Freedom programme is a rolling programme, meaning women can join at any time. The programme is a self – awareness and educational programme for women who would like to find out more about domestic violence and abuse. 

Parent Gym

Parent Gym consists of six, two-hour sessions, packed with practical techniques to make family life easier and to help children thrive. All sessions are designed to be highly interactive and participative. 

Parents/carers can attend fun, interactive sessions covering a different topic every session,  focusing on learning various strategies such as establishing boundaries, building self-esteem and independence, developing effective communication, and supporting children to learn and explore.

The programme is aimed at parents and carers of children aged 2-11.

Sessions are held at children centres within the Ealing borough.

Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) Parenting Programme

Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) is a community based programme that trains and supervises local parents to lead parents’ groups in schools, children’s centres and other community centres. It is a structured parenting programme designed to promote warm, nurturing and effective parenting. 

EPEC combines peer-led parenting groups with training, organisational support and supervision, provided by specialists in child development, well-being and parenting. It is specifically designed to improve the scale, access and effectiveness of parenting support available to all local families who live in Ealing and Hounslow.

As part of thier Being a Parent Course, trained parent facilitators deliver eight, two-hour structured group sessions, in accessible community settings within Ealing.

The content is focused on:

  • Improving parent-child communication
  • Understanding children’s feelings and behaviour
  • Effective strategies to promote children’s positive behaviour and development.

Early Start SEND Inclusion Team Parent Workshops

The Early Start SEND Inclusion Team run various workshops for parents and carers of children aged 0-5 with social communication needs.
The workshops provide parents and carers with the opportunity to learn new skills and gain practical strategies to support their child with toileting, sleeping, eating, as well as understanding sensory differences.
