The Royal National Children's Foundation supports children and young people aged 7 to 18 years where parents are unable to provide care through adverse home conditions.
This may be due to death or the serious illness of one or both parents, divorce, separation or other situations such as a severely disabled sibling.15% of children and young people supported by the Foundation are young carers who have cared for a sibling or parents.
It provides support for the child to attend a boarding school (state or private) or in some cases a day school. Decisions to fund are made on boarding need not educational need.
Applications may be made by relatives, support professionals or schools.
