Sweet Science is a mentoring programme delivered in schools where boxing is used as a tool for teaching young people life lessons, social and moral guidelines, body language, good manners, nutrition and healthy living and discussing local and national issues e.g personal safety, knife crime, gang culture.
In addition to the mentoring programmes delivered in schools, boxing fitness sessions take place on Saturday mornings at Ark Burlington Danes Academy and are open to all.
As well as working in primary and secondary schools, we have worked extensively with the BBC YourGame, Beat Bullying Foundation, the NHS, CentrePoint homeless charity and Greenhouse; We are also proud to announce that world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua is our Ambassador.
Whether it’s young people whom need a positive outlet to channel excess energy or students lacking confidence, our programme is accessible to all, including those that do not normally take part in sport. The positive results achieved by Sweet Science have been voiced by Headteachers, teachers, parents and pupils alike.
